the arcade! march ’13

Ok, I normally avoid Gachas, but the arcade is just frigging awesome.

I’m going to type out my play by play reactions to what I’m seeing on the shopping guide. I’m only commenting on things that I have a strong reaction to. I like/dislike other things too, but there are a zillion vendors, and id like to go to bed sometime tonight.

[edit] Btw, whether I like an item or a shop has nothing to do with the person CREATING the item itself I’ve loved shops and items made by people I hate, and frequently hated items from people that I love. Even if I hate items I can usually still admire the creativity and talent it takes to make them, unless I specifically slag off the laziness of said item. Then no :p[/edit]

I haven’t even SEEN what intrigue is making but i KNOW i want it.

clothes? wtf

I think that the big fashion houses in Second Life take themselves WAY too seriously, with haute couture names and slick logos, or the hippy-dippy monikers and crunchy granola decor; its all getting very pretentious. I think that people need to lighten up. That’s why I’m creating a NEW clothing brand so that whenever I feel like making clothes, I have some way to share them.

I can’t guarantee that I’ll be able to churn out professionally occlusion mapped mesh seasonal wear at the same rate as the big names, but I’ll spend forever hand drawing things, and I’ll finish them to the absolute best quality I can. I’m not going to restrict myself to high fashion gowns, grungy emo neko gear, flowey boho things, or bimbotastic skank wear. You will get ball gowns on Tuesday, and by Thursday I’ll release video gamer tees. I’m just going to make whatever I want, whenever I want, and hope that some people like it.

CU Logo Preview

My brand is called cereal underpants. No, its not capitalized. No, it doesn’t have a thin, sans-serif logo in dark grey imposed over a lighter grey gradient background. No, I won’t overprice the clothes so that when you walk in, you think, “are you fucking kidding me? I’m not paying L$500 for a pair of fucking socks.” Here’s what you can expect: Fun. Quality. Randomness. Reasonable prices. And maybe, one day, an explanation of the evolution of the name.

I’m pretty excited.

Lordy

This was supposed to be a simplistic lazyblog.  stated out on wordpress.com earlier today, but i couldn’t customize it so i moved it to my domain.  Now I’ve spent all damned day doing this.

whatever it will all be fancy and work nicely now.  Im gonna use this as a CMS framework.  go me.

It better let me us php in my pages though, or imma get stabby pretty fast, and nobody wants that.

ohh! a blog, i bet you've never seen one before have you!

hey, My name is Alexis Stapovic.Well that’s not my real name, but I like to parade around and pretend that it is.  I use Second life.

In my non SL life I am a pretty fab web designer, and a graphic designer also!  I could have installed wordpress on my own domain, but guess what: I’m too damned lazy.  I wanted some place I could go and spew unprocessed drivel without expending too much effort.

I like this theme, its nifty eh?  I think I’ll use this one.  I choo choo choose you!

I plan on writing whatever I want without much regard for what anyone thinks of it..  I might elate some people, I might offend some people.  All of my links go right into SL, not to the stupid slurl page.  ‘Cause that page is lame.

New Skins!

So, somehow my skin files magically resurrected themselves, so I’m going to finish making up the sets with these ones and then make new actual skin bases. I have nine new skins to release shortly.

woo 2009

Just another update to let you all know that I’m not dead. Life has been busy. I moved to a new flat in England and ever since I moved I’ve have people over on a bi-weekly basis, (My fiancee insists that it is FORTNIGHTLY, not bi-weekly, and I can natter that “it’s a word, I learned it”)(yes, he IS special, thanks for asking). This ritual involved a lot of drinking, being hungover, hanging out at the local spa and neglecting SL.

I’ve made ONE single paltry new skin called CC, set up skins in the Lalique sim, and made a general mess of everything else.

Skinkie blogged me in Second Style!

Skinkie-Style:: The Esthetics of Make-Up

By Skinkie | May 2, 2008

Something slightly different from me this week. I don’t normally do skin reviews, but when I was trying on a bunch of skins I’d picked up from the Skin Fair (yes, a little belatedly) one set stood out so much I almost didn’t have time to put my clothes back on before running to pick up some more demo’s. Esthetica Makeup Arts (EMA) isn’t a particularly easy store to find. It’s set off the mainstore of Material Squirrel, in one of the wings, at the far end of a wide corridor – certainly not a shop you would see in passing. Which is a shame, as Alexis Stapovic produces some nice work.
